Joslyn has been working as a massage therapist for three years and has had the opportunity to care for a wide range of clients in that time. She truly loves what she does and is excited to be a part of KindNest. Our modern society is sadly lacking in the traditions of women caring for and supporting other women through life's transitions. I feel blessed to be part of a group of women who are trying to bring them back.
Movement has been the keystone and healing path in Jeanette's life for over 28 years, both on a personal and professional level. After experiencing a sports injury of an ACL tear in her right knee at the age of 14, she was on a path of recovery. Having had two surgeries and not gaining what was lost, she went on to explore physical therapy, strength training, massage therapy, and then, later on, the most healing - yoga. This inspired her to become a fitness instructor at the age of 16. By age 20, she was personal training and leading an array of fitness classes.
Jeanette's goal is to inspire people to feel vibrantly alive, healthy, aware, and at home in their bodies through yoga, dance, and massage. After receiving her BFA in Communication Arts from Pratt Institute, Jeanette was inspired to pursue health and healing through movement; first by training to become a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist in 1995, then going on to get her Yoga Teacher Certification from Kripalu in 2004. It was at Kripalu where she fell in love with the freedom, power and grace of Kripalu's Yoga-dance, which generated a passion to learn and experience more types of freedom-based dance. She went on to study with Gabrielle Roth, Shiva Rea, Daniel Leven, and more renowned Yoga masters. Dance proved to be not only an exhilaratingly fun form of exercise, but deeply healing on all levels. Jeanette now teaches Therapeutic Yoga classes, has a massage practice in Saratoga, and leads fun dance parties for women to celebrate birthdays, bachelorette parties, and girl's night out.
